On a glorious sunny day 9 members took the HS1 train to Canterbury with a friendly guard who didn't complain about that many bikes in one carriage (there was another bike space). I took a very slow and very early train from South London and met up with the faster riders at the Roman fort at Richborough after a leisurely ride from Canterbury.
We then followed the coast stopping at Deal, Walmer and Dover castles, where Andy M had a cleat moment (see photo). Lunch at St Margarets was slow but we were early due to the fast pace so it was a chance to relax (see photo).
Lots of ups and downs after that but we were rewarded by a tea stop at Capel Le Ferne near Folkestone with an amazing view of the coast - great find Peter.
I left the ride at Folkestone while the others set off to Ashford for the HS1 back.
Thank you Peter for a great ride and to everyone for their patience.
